Our Mission

The Electric Dragons promote the sport and culture of dragon boating for members, family, and friends by bringing together people with diverse backgrounds to meet, share cultural experiences, and have fun while enjoying the benefit of physical fitness from dragon boating.

Our Vision

The Electric Dragons strive to be a well recognized organization in the dragon boat community by consistently demonstrating high standards, partnering with charity groups, fostering membership/participant diversity, and providing an enjoyable teaming experience.

Operating Principles

The Electric Dragons recruit and train to compete in the annual Long Beach Dragon Boat Tournament as well as tournaments in other cities, states, and countries as funding permits. Participation in tournaments is optional.

Training

The Electric Dragons provide the environment, coaching, and equipment for new and experienced paddlers.

Practice Open To All

Please join us if you are interested in trying dragonboating, it is easy to learn and a great team sport. Fill out our waiver and bring it to practice

INFO

Bring water, sunglasses, hat, and sunblock.
Eat a light breakfast in the morning at least an hour before practice (bananas, fruit, cereal, etc).
Do the following every other day –
1. Sit-Ups – 30 OR Abs Crunch – 30
2. Windmill – 30 (hold at least 5 seconds on each side)
3. Squat – 30
4. Walk / Run 1 mile.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON APPIAN WAY!!! Park at the Boy Scout Parking Lot. Thanks..

NOTICE

We need a minimum of 10 paddlers to keep the practice. Respond by END OF MONDAY, if possible.

IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT park on Apian Way or any side street around the practice area. If any members or guests are sited for parking on Apian Way or any side street, beach or practice privileges for the entire team may be suspended. Members and guests may park at the following locations:

  • Meter parking lot on Apian
  • Boy Scout parking lot on Apian

The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.
